n8611 Nokia N86, 8 Megapixel Monster So Close To Relase You Can Hear It Roar

When the U.S. received the Nokia N97 before Europe, there were definite beach parties and fireworks. These were followed by mass prayers and offerings of thanks to the divine deity for this great gift of the N97 and that too before Europe. Now many are hopeful that they will continue in the good eye of God and in the shower of blessings, possibly get their hands on the Nokia N86 8MP. Out sometime in the next week, all Nokia fans literally have their fingers crossed for a concurrent release of the Nokia N86 in Europe and U.S. The N86 has already been showcased in flagship stores in London, and the release date is set for June 19th. The handsets have already started shipping worldwide so it shouldn’t be long for anyone any way.

LG GW550 Smartphone, Possible Competition To Snap Or Wannabe?

Not quite the angelic face of the Aigen GM730, but the newest and latest from LG is bound to give the HTC Snap something to think about. The new set is aimed at business users and although it’s not about to win any pageants, it’s far from an ugly phone and will be sure to cause a definite impact on its target market. The phone features quad-band, GSM/GPRS/EDGE and “global 3G, so regardless of what a loser your carrier is, this phone is likely to become a must have for those corporate execs on the constant go. The set is called the GM 550 and it’s a smartphone in smooth minimal design. It features WinMo 6.1, an E71esque QWERTY, 2.4 inch QVGA display, 3 megapixel camera, 7.2Mbps HSDPA / 2Mbps HSUPA, stereo speakers and a 1300 mAh battery. No price tags have been printed as of yet nor any release dates. The question now is to Snap or not to Snap?

TELUS Also Planning To Launch BlackBerry Tour On July 15

telus tour launch rumor TELUS Also Planning To Launch BlackBerry Tour On July 15

No doubt news has been all about either Sprint or Verizon launching/announcing or bathing the new BlackBerry Tour 9630, but that doesn’t mean that the locals of the Smartphone are going to be left out.  The TELUS Tour is rumored to be out on July 15th, which a lot ways away from the old rumored date of June 22nd. Delays are no one’s idea of the perfect summer but this delay is subject to the old date which itself was a rumor. However other rumors are that there might be a 1GB microSD included as compensation for delay. This is probably the too-far-fetched-to-believe rumor and with the pricing rumor of $249.99 3-year promotional price, it’s not about to happen in this life time.

n97 mini Vodafone To Carry Unannounced Nokia N97 Mini

The forum moderator for Vodafone is likely to be unemployed and sacked from the moderator throne. Having just made some startling new announcements regarding what’s to be featured in the Vodafone line up regarding the new Nokia releases. The first of the revelations say that Vodafone will not be carrying the new Nokia N97 because it is priced so high. Wonder if Nokia can hear this? Hello out there? Nokia, Your N97 is priced too high! What’s interesting is that the Mod goes on to say that Vodafone will be taking on the Nokia N97 mini for its competitive pricing. Here that one Nokia? Competitive pricing. The mod goes on to say that Vodafone will offer the BlackBerry Storm 2 later this year. And in the end he bid farewell with the news that due to some exclusivity with a competitor deal Vodafone will not be carrying the Palm Pre. Of course this will all be classified under “rumor” and we will begin searching the rivers and seas for anything dumped recently in a big plastic bag.

huawei u8230 c8000 Huawei Announces Two New Smartphones; U8230 And C8000

In a month where it’s raining impressive handsets and everyone is slapping on a touchscreen the two new sets announced by Huawei at the CommuniAsia 2009 are not going to turn any heads or gather any following. The sets in themselves are not bad but will fail to impress with few or no features that really get the avid mobile device addict to want to pick it up and take it for a spin. Of the two sets it introduced, the U8230 showcased on the right, has an Android OS as its only notable feature. Other specs include a 3.5 inch touchscreen, 3.2 megapixel camera and 1500mAH battery. Albeit the android OS there are handsets out there and soon to be out that are way more loaded. The other set, showcased on the left, the C8000, features  2.8 touchscreen, some sort of 3D UI band aid and an independent display adapter for smoothly running all your media files. The device quotes a music playback time of 6 to 8 hours on a fully charged battery. No price is as yet available but the sets should land in Asia and Europe sometime in the later half.

BlackBerry BOGO At Verizon Wireless Ended

verizon blackberry bogo BlackBerry BOGO At Verizon Wireless Ended

Many of you may be disappointed to hear this but Verizon is looking to end it Buy One Get One Free promo on the BlackBerry handsets. Hey, come on, it was a Promo. The good that comes from it is that the BlackBerry will see a price reduction of $50. Although the cut off day is rumored around June 16, chances are it will actually be honored by Verizon upto the 27th due to advertising running amok. And out of the put-a-lid-on-it range. Highly doubtful that anyone could get a sales rep to continue the offer past the 19th but it was worth a shoot to those who tried and besides, you have a price reduction and all eyes are on the Tour anyway.

LG Announces Aigen LG GM730

lg aigen lg gm730 LG Announces Aigen LG GM730

Looks like LG is now entering the arena of “launch-really-hot-great-totally-awesome-new-phones”. And it’s definitely trying to show up recently launched and much adored Samsung Omnia pro with its latest release the Aigen LG-GM730. And look wise, it pretty up there. The new Aigen is definitely high on features and function with the S-class 3D UI and WinMo 6.1 in a convenient combo, the Aigen is a dual band 7.2Mbps HSDPA with a 3 inch WQVGA touchscreen display, GPS, Fm Radio, Wi-Fi and 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and flash. All this in a device that is around 11.9 mm thick. The Phone is offered in colors Black, Pink and lime Chrome trim. But would it really be LG without anything weird going? The weird thing is LG says it’s already launched the phone in Korea but astoundingly, no price is available out there. Typical for LG, perplexing for us.

WiMAX Official In Atlanta

wheres wimax WiMAX Official In Atlanta

4G may have been out there for a month but Clearwire has only just now made its own WiMAX presence known to the people of Atlanta. It is among the other 15 cities to be covered or are already covered between now and the down end of 2010. It looks to cover around 1200 square miles and 3 million people, so this may as well be one of the biggest launches to date. Atlanta is a city where the airways are thick with traffic and the airport is frequently off schedule on good day so those of you waiting for an obviously expected delayed flight will no longer have to pay the airport people for WiMax usage especially when you prefer to hiss at them anyway. Atlanta is offering the WiMAx at $20 per month for a home plan, $40 per month on mobile and day passes at $10.
