Well there’s news for those dwelling in Canada, if you’ve been getting impatient about not getting the latest BlackBerry and, having just reached the end of your rope, decided to order one from the United States, hold your horses. There’s news abuzz that the latest BlackBerry models will be making a pretty appearance in your town too.

Word had been around since long that Rogers would be launching the BlackBerry Curve 8900. Now it’s confirmed at last, the Curve 8900 will be on sale at Rogers for $149.99 with a 3 year voice and data contract. Well, that’s good and normal news. Now for the strange news, Rogers will also be showcasing something…well… it’s a PINK BLACKBERRY BOLD, I have no other words to give it a formal introduction. Just imagine your BlackBerry Bold is now PINK! The business phone that was the mother of all innovations and QWERTY phones we see today, is PINK! Don’t get me wrong here, it’s not like I have something against pink, I love pink…in babies clothing. The Samsung Cleo had a solid reason, it was a business phone, but a pink BlackBerry Bold….? Anyway, they have spared us the knowledge on whether it will be all pink or just pink in some places (as if that makes any difference). If someone out there has been praying for a pink BlackBerry Bold, well, your prayers were answered and now the rest of humanity will pay for it.

Enough of the dismalness, it’s the Holiday season, so here’s more good though unbalanced news. Unbalanced because, remember a while ago we all found out that Fido was re-positioning itself as the low-cost brand, so keeping true to that spirit, no one in their right mind expected that Fido would bring out a BlackBerry too, right? Well, nothing beats the element of outrageous surprise, Fido is indeed bringing out a BlackBerry. It’s expected in the second week of December. The phone will be the BlackBerry 8120 Pearl in Oyster Pink, also known as Sandstone like the one at AT&T, Grey. Another model for the first quarter is the BlackBerry 8220 pearl that will be up for a $50 contract with a 2 year contract.
