Tetris-Electronic Arts Makes Games For G1

November 2nd, 2008 momina No comments

Electronic Arts revealed this Wednesday that they would now be making games for the Android phone, G1. They’ve already unveiled a few games based on the Google Open Source Code, becoming the first software developer to do so.

Tetris is the first game from Electronic Arts to run on the Google Phone. Tetris is one of the most popular mobile phone games and is the forerunner of many Google-led Open Handset Alliance games to come.

Other games that EA has announced for release this month include ‘Bejeweled’ and a video game version of the real estate empire building game ‘Monopoly’. Many more games are in the pipeline so G1 users can expect plenty of fun for their handsets.

The Google Phone was released by the US carrier T-Mobile last week. The cell phone bearing the Android Operating System was manufactured by the Taiwan-based company HTC Corporation. The other Alliance member, Motorola has also announced that it will be releasing its own Android smartphone next year.

The games will be sold in stores across the US as well as online.
