Okay so the much rumored Samsung Instinct HD is now officially official on Sprint. Speculation about the new version of the Instinct had been around for a good while, but for the official word crazed crowed, the time has come to whip out your pocket books. Although not what we or anyone for that matter expected, the announcement came in a newsletter sent to Premier customers. Now this could be a mistake, in fact it most likely is, that the Samsung Instinct HD will be a handset of the people, not just the Premier crowd. The Instinct HD features, “a 3.2″ screen, enhanced visual voicemail, simpler texting, improved browsing and a 5-megapixel camera,” and that’s probably something Sprint will soon be drilling into our heads very soon. So who’s buying?

And while the wails can still be heard from the users of Samsung Glyde, what with the touchscreen that can make anyone cry, there is another gorgeous looking handset to drool over. Presenting the Samsung Rogue. The handset features a full touchscreen along with a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard not to mention Bluetooth, GPS, a 3 megapixel camera and EV-DO Rev. A support. Rumors put the Rogue at Verizon’s desk soon enough. Enjoy the images.

We now bring you a blurry picture of the not so cool Samsung u450 Intensity. The handset is headed for Verizon and will have a place on Best Buy shelves as well. Official word isn’t in yet but seeing as the u450 Intensity features dual keypads, a 1.3 megapixel camera and Bluetooth, there won’t be lines a mile long to grab one. Oh well, this could be exciting if you’ve never held a dual keypad before. Of course we’d rather jump straight to the Omnia 2.

RadioShack, now known as The Shack, has just come out with its much awaited budget messaging phone for T-Mobile subscribers. The messaging phone was to be with The Shack from its first day and that’s exactly what happened. So what handset are we talking about here? The oh so very affordable Samsung Gravity 2 for a humble $29.99 post mail-in-rebate and a 2-year contract. The Samsung Gravity 2 features a side-sliding QWERTY along with a 2 megapixel camera, MP3 player, Bluetooth and microSDHC support. Great deal if you’re a light user but love to text your thumbs off, all you have to do is make peace with the metallic pumpkin color.

Fresh rumor has it that the Samsung Galaxy I7500 is ready to fill shelves at O2 stores. The rumor comes from Register Hardware blog that claims to have been tipped off to this little piece. If O2 retail stores have gotten their secret stock of Samsung Galaxy I7500, it means we may well get to see the full touchscreen Android beauty in the market this September. The handset has some classy features and knowing how good looking Sammy’s handsets are 528MHz processor, 3.2-inch capacitive OLED display, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, 8GB of internal memory are sure to add up to a mouthwatering package.

Samsung has given the official word on which countries will get the Omnia II. The list mentions a total of 14 markets and the surprising fact is that major markets such as the United States, U.K., Germany and France weren’t on the list. The Omnia II was slated for AT&T, but since Big Blue hasn’t made the official announcement yet, maybe that’s what’s keeping Sammy quiet too. The markets that are confirmed by the list are; Philippines, Thailand, Netherlands, Turkey, UAE, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Chile, Colombia and Australia. These will be in addition to Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, countries which have already received the Omnia II. For those of you whose country didn’t make it, well don’t lose hope yet, the Omnia II will see more of the globe as the year progresses.

Now among the handsets on their way to AT&T in the next few months is the Samsung A797, and it is a handset we knew very little about. Till today that is. Seems like some Atlanta native, oblivious of the unannounced status of the handset, got an A797 but then decided to jump ship and go on over to Sprint. Part of the breaking-ties was to put the A797 up for sale on Craig’s list (for $115). And voilà! Here we have an image of the vertical slider phone and its pretty QWERTY and touchscreen (because there’s no d-pad). The A797 is a dumphone feature phone and we don’t expect it to be setting any Olympic records. Since the Craig list sale price is $115, seems a safe bet that AT&T will be pricing this with fewer digits.

Sprint is now among the carriers that posses the evergood Green thumb. The first of its eco-friendly devices is the Samsung Reclaim. The Samsung Reclaim is a handset made with 80 percent recycled material and according to Sprint it is “the most full-featured QWERTY phone launched by Sprint at less than $50”. We believe. The Samsung Reclaim features a QWERTY keypad, 2 megapixel camera with video capture, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, GPS and microSDHC support (up to 32GB). Pretty good compared to the other green-phones out there. The Reclaim is currently available for an affordable $49.99 on contract. For every handset purchased, Sprint will donate $2 to The Nature Conservancy’s Adopt an Acre program.

Here’s another incentive for all of you who want to jump on the smartphone wagon; Verizon Wireless has dropped the pricing on all existing smartphones to $99. That’s right, ALL. Of course this also signifies that Verizon is getting new stuff for its shelves, but we like all things that result in downward movements of prices. In case the magnitude of the goodness hasn’t settled in, the Touch Pro is now $99 from the crummy $419 it used to be. The only smartphones that are above the $99 mark are the BlackBerry Tour and Samsung Saga. But since the BlackBerry Storm 2 is slated for a before November release, maybe the Tour will see a price cut too. In any case, smartphone owners’ life on Verizon just got a lot easier.

Another handset to go official is the AT&T and Samsung Solstice. The Solstice features a full 3 inch touchscreen and of course Sammy’s very own TouchWiz UI. You’re also looking at uad-band GSM/dual-band 3G radio, 2 megapixel camera sans-flash, haptic feedback, aGPS, accelerometer and some other decent mid-range features. Not a bad bargain at all. You can get the Solstice as of now from all retail AT&T stores and online for $99.99 after MIR on a 2-year contract. Be smart and wait for the early adopter tax to be lifted.
