sync palm pre mac Mark Space Comes Out With Missing Sync Beta For Palm Pre

Palm Pre, great phone syncs really nice with iTunes, not o much with Macs. But for all such issues, we have Mark/Space, the company has delivered on its promise of issuing a public beta version of Missing Sync for the Palm Pre. The utility is currently at version 1.0 beta, but according to all reports, it’s fully functional and free for you to take for a spin. You get to sync Contacts, Music, photos, ringtones, files, calendar items, videos and podcasts. Soon to be included are Safari bookmarks, though the forthcoming MyBookmarks app is a prerequisite so not quite there yet. Also, Missing Sync for the Pre does include proximity sync, which will sync up your Pre when it is detected on the same network as your Mac. Cool. Requirements include Pre OS 1.0.2+, OS X 10.5.6+, iTunes 7.4+ and a few other notes depending on what you want to sync. How much will it cost you if you’re planning on a buy? $40, you get the full version the minute it comes out.

samsung omnia pro rumor Samsung Louvre May Be The Omnia Pro

So everyone’s excited about the upcoming Samsung Louvre, but the now we have another speculation on the air waves; is the Samsung Louvre really the Omnia Pro? Let’s look at what we have, for one thing, Samsung accidently let slip pictures of the Louvre to its press gallery and referred to it as the Omnia Pro. Now the Omnia Pro has been in the news in past months, but nothing current supports the idea that we may soon be seeing it. Of course if you match specs, the Louvre may very well be the Omnia Pro;

  1. 3.5-inch AMOLED resistive touchscreen display w/ WVGA resolution
  2. 800MHz processor
  3. 5.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash
  4. Sliding QWERTY keypad
  5. 2 UIs (Pro & Media w/ dedicated button to switch between them)
  6. TV-OUT
  7. 3.5mm headphone jack
  8. MicroUSB
  9. Divx/WMV/H.264 accelerations

10.  GPS/WIFI/HSDPA/HSUPA/Bluetooth

11.  FM Radio

12.  DNLA support

13.  1GB internal memory with microSDHC up to 32GB

14.  1500mAh battery

The Louvre/Omnia Pro is still in the September/October time slot, but there’s also word that the handset is facing ROM troubles. Of course we believe in being optimistic.

New CEO Aboard At Palm, Bye Bye Colligan, Hello Rubinstein

palm logo New CEO Aboard At Palm, Bye Bye Colligan, Hello Rubinstein

Major changes have taken place at Palm, and no I don’t mean just the launch of the Pre or even WebOS itself, no, it’s a corporate strategic level change.  Palm has just announced recently that Ed Colligan will step down as CEO and Jon Rubinstein will assume charge. This is one change many will agree was long overdue, and while Colligan does have to his credit the Pre and WebOS, its been felt for a long time that Palm needed someone new to steer its ship. Rubinstein has his work cut out for him, for Palm has still has a long way to go, despite the uber-success that Pre is. As for Colligan, he will join Roger McNamee at Elevation Partners, a major financial backer of Palm, nice end to a sixteen year stretch. Good luck Palm.

Among the most touted features of the next generation iPhone is the ability to make video calls and video chat. Caught in the wild are these shots that claim to showcase these new features. One of the images shows the camera being used to take a self-portrait, while the second image shows video chat full on. Of course, regardless of the fact that video conferencing is the most outdated thing, it seems that it’s one of the ‘improvements’ in the new iPhone. So will people really care? Enjoy the images.

Nokia N900 Appears In Promo Video

n9001 Nokia N900 Appears In Promo Video

Ok so this is definitely an old video, but it’s living proof of existence nevertheless. During a purported presentation last October from Axel Meyer, head of Nseries design at Nokia, the upcoming Nokia N900 Internet Tablet was given center stage for a little while in a promotional video. Now considering how much time has passed between this video and now, probably the Internet Tablet has changed its looks to more refinement. In any case, the specs are pretty decent; a 59.7mm x 111mm x 18.2mm body, 3.5-inch 800×480 (WVGA) touchscreen, OMAP3430 500/600 Mhz processor, 5.0 MP Carl Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash and auto-focus, 1GB total virtual runtime memory, Wi-Fi, HSPA, GPS and an accelerometer. Enjoy the video.

Here’s something you’re sure to love; live images of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 have just surfaced on the Esato forums. The X2 dons a full silver coat and looks pretty decent with those PC-like keys on its full QWERTY keypad. You’ll also notice that the handset is rocking Windows Mobile 6.5. Other specs include;

  • 3.5-inch WVGA OLED (increased from 3.0 from X1)
  • GPS, aGPS
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • Accelerometer
  • Faster processor
  • 512 RAM
  • Custom Windows Mobile 6.5 (SE engineers customized Win6.5 which runs very. very speedy. in par with iPhone and better in some cases)
  • XPERIA Panels are modified with plenty of innovative features (PS3 remote play being one of them)
  • Upgrading to Windows Mobile 7 is supported by Xperia panels

Now let’s hope we get to play with handset instead of our grandkids. Enjoy the imagery.

Garmin-ASUS Nuvifone To Actually Materialize

garminasus nuviphone Garmin ASUS Nuvifone To Actually Materialize

The Garmin-ASUS Nuvifone is pretty much the topic that hits a nerve with all navigation phone enthusiasts. If you’ve been living under a rock, the reason is the absolute absence of the handset. Even the merger of the companies couldn’t make the handset happen for all its fans. Well, it seems that the unthinkable may just happen, according to a report by TWICE Garmin is “getting very close” to a carrier launch here in the US. And the reason for the delay given by Garmin president and COO Cliff Pemble is;

“Originally we thought we’d launch the phone into the open market, but because of the strong interest we had from carriers, we chose to focus on a carrier-centric launch and meeting carrier requirements is a lot of work.”

So we dare again hope for the Nuvifone.
