google good ideas Google Wants To Hear Your Opinion

Google Mobile is now asking users to chip in their two cents and suggest ways for Google to improve its mobile services. You actually get to suggest ideas on Google Moderator, the ideas are visible to all and users can vote on them. This gives Google a clear idea of what most of their users want, what’s not so important and what’s an amazingly wrong path to go down.

It’s a pretty smart move and Google will gain more from this than launching test applications at its own behest. In business terms, nothing beats a massive focus group interview from participants who really want to see an improvement on the product they use. Of course the key to how far Google will actually succeed with this idea is ‘execution’; how will Google implement those ideas and how soon. Currently the top rated idea is “Manage Google Calendar on Google Mobile (add, update, delete an event with all functionalities of the web application)”. If Google plans on spending an year to give this one some tangible form, users may lose interest in the whole idea. In any case, if you want to give your input, Google is all arm wide open at product ideas.
