Nokia 3720 Classic Survives Torture Cell

Over the past few days, the people at Nokia have been mutilating and torturing an unknown Nokia handset on video. This is probably Nokia’s way of building interest for the handset and truth be told, we are interested. The poor little device has been dunked in a pint, smacked with a golf club, punted through the air, drowned in a pool and even dropped two stories off a ladder, so that makes everything but the kitchen sink that’s been thrown at it. Each and every ‘accident’ is followed by the phrase “it’s still working!”So this is Nokia ruggedizing the handset and making it pro-survival in the real world. So what is this handset going to be called? Rumor has it the phone under military training is gearing up to be IP54-certified 3720 Classic.  Specs include;

  1. Water and dust resistant (IP54 certificate)
  2. Battery life: over 2.5 weeks standby time
  3. FM radio
  4. Integrated flashlight
  5. S40 OS
  6. 2.2-inch QVGA display, 16M colors
  7. 25MB internal memory
  8. MicroSD card slot
  9. Bluetooth

10.  3.2 megapixel camera

Not bad for a handset that can take so much punishment. The phone should be out sometime in September, till then enjoy the torture videos below.
