Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Gets Flash Lite 3.1
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic owners now have a new update for Flash Lite from Adobe. Flash Lite 3.1, however, being true to Nokia fashion of releasing an update for one region while the rest seethes in anger is honorably upheld this time around too. In any case, the good this is that Adobe didn’t wait for Nokia to release a firmware update, instead the upgrade is available independently. Here’s the change log to Adobe;
1. Improved Web Browsing, 91% of top 500 internet sites
2. Flash 9 (AS2 only) support
3. Local Connection / HTML Text / GetURL_target / CSS support / WMode
4. H.264 support / Improved video support (smoothing, seek)
5. Improved memory handling for images
6. MP3 Streaming support
7. Support for hardware acceleration – Flash Lite 3.1 supports OpenVG 1.1 to improve flash rendering performance on capable devices
8. Linux Reference port
Hopefully, since this isn’t a firmware upgrade, the Flash Lite 3.1 will soon be available for all regions. Those who have already gotten the update love the new and improved in-browser experience. To check if the update is available in your region, turn to App Update on your 5800.
