Nokia Owns Symbian
Well it’s now down and official Nokia will acquire Symbian at last. The official start up announcement came back in June that Nokia planned to take up the shares of Symbian which it didn’t already own. That was a nice 52% share in addition to the 48% they did own.
So Nokia will now pull the strings at Symbian, not to mention become the driving force behind the Symbian Foundation, which was established by Nokia back in June 2008. Its members include together with AT&T, LG Electronics, Motorola, NTT DOCOMO, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, ST-NXP Wireless, Texas Instruments and Vodafone.
