Nokia Pulls The Plug On The N810 WiMAX Tablet
It’s finally curtains down for the Nokia N810 WiMAX Tablet. The Tablet was Nokia’s only WiMAX device and it lost its battle for survival to Long-Term Evolution (LTE). Nokia had hoped to pitch the Tablet as a device for next generation mobile technology.
“We have ramped down the N810 WiMax Edition tablet. It has reached the end of its lifecycle,” said a Nokia spokesman.
The Tablet hadn’t been on the market long, nine months to be exact, and most models have a shelf life of at least a year. Nokia, however, hasn’t ruled out the idea of making more WiMAX handsets, but given the way things went for the N810, seems unlikely it will. Let’s see what they do in the LTE area.
