RIM is definitely saying, “Somebody stop me!” Its projected earnings for the first quarter of 2010 definitely make out RIM to be unstoppable and definitely on the rise. While tax cuts have definitely helped the company increase its profits to an all time high, a record $643 million and that too in a year hit hard by the recession, there is no doubt that RIM has also increased its customer base significantly to achieve this profit. It shipped 7.8 million devices this year with an addition of around 3.8million to its customer base. And it’s not slowing down. The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is only going to stir things up for the better for RIM, which has already had immense success with the BlackBerry Storm. RIM has kept it going all through the recession by continuing to offer its core product to its customers in new and jaw dropping stylish motifs. Unlike people at Nokia who go and launch the N97 at prices that are shit high, just to keep it all going. And let’s not forget the antics of various carriers and manufacturers who have consistently withdrawn certain customer support and value added services over the year.
