Samsung Announces Award Winning MBP-200 Pico Projector
In what will be the hottest mobile phone accessory this side of town, Samsung announced a few days ago a brand new mobile phone accessory; MBP-200 Pico Projector. This is Samsung’s award winning accessory, a mini portable projector for both your mobile phone as well as laptop. The MBP-200 was named the CES Innovations and Engineering Design Best for the year 2009 in the wireless handset accessories category.
Powered by DLP Pico chip technology from Texas Instruments, the lightweight, compact and portable device can be carried around everywhere, simply hook it up to your mobile phone and share your videos with your friends on a 50-inch viewing screen.
Users can also transfer files easily as well as project content through the microSD card slot. The MBP-200 has a simple sleek design with touch pad controls on the side to make navigation a lot easier. There’s also a 2.2 inch QVGA screen that lets you view your content privately. The MBP-200 also supports Microsoft Office and PDF file formats—all of which means you can take and make your presentations anywhere. You can listen to music and create playlists, as well as view video, pictures or PDF, PowerPoint, Word or Excel files.
The cool thing about the MBP-200 is that it is powered by a miniaturize version of the same technology that is found in DLP HDTVs, home theater projectors and large-scale cinema houses. The unit can accommodate a range of projected image sizes – from an 8 ½ x 11 standard sheet of paper to a large 50-inch screen. It also comes with a screen holder and telescoping pole hidden on the inside. You can go Inspector Gadget on any piece of paper and turn it into a screen to view movies, document files or pictures. The 3.5mm standard jack allows users to enjoy their own headphones or speakers, or the built-in external speaker allows the MBP200 to play audio directly from the device. The MBP200 will be available later this year.
Pricing details on the MBP-200 haven’t been given yet, but the projector is scheduled for release later this year.
