samsung jet Samsung Jet, Status: Official

Samsung is in the news again, a bit Madonna-like. No it’s not adopting more kids, but it does have a new baby out. Perhaps it’s more en route to Brangelina. Shortly after announcing the Omnia Pros, it has made another revelation; the Samsung Jet. A full touchscreen with the company’s TouchWiz 2.0 UI to boot. The specs are as follows:

  • 3.1-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen display, 16M colors
  • 800MHz processor
  • TouchWiz 2.0 user interface with new features such as intuitive 3D media gate UI and motion-response UI, smart unlock, customizable widget screen.
  • Full HTML Dolfin Web browser
  • 5 megapixel camera
  • GPS
  • DNSe & SRS Sound Effect technology
  • DivX and XviD video support
  • Microsoft Exchange support

Pretty well loaded, all junk in the trunk the new Samsung Jet. And the TouchWiz should be enough to anticipate. Cartwheels anyone?

samsung omnia pro rumor More Pictures And Specs Of The Samsung Louvre

Something very fishy is going on behind the vaults of Samsung. Possibly a case of mixed or mistaken IDs. The ever so anticipated and religiously discussed since April, Samsung Omnia is determinedly being elusive. From pictures leaked accidently by Samsung to its press gallery we have reason to believe that the Samsung B7610 Louvre we have been raving about for not so long might just be the Samsung Omnia Pro in a new disguise and name. But of course if you compare the specs it only seems logical and no matter how beautiful and fabulous Samsung is, it still is not about to give us two really hot phones to go crazy over. And thanks to the leak(s) we have a more detailed list of specs for you.

  • 3.5-inch AMOLED resistive touchscreen display w/ WVGA resolution
  • 800MHz processor
  • 5.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash
  • Sliding QWERTY keypad
  • 2 UIs (Pro & Media w/ dedicated button to switch between them)
  • TV-OUT
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • MicroUSB
  • Divx/WMV/H.264 accelerations
  • GPS/WIFI/HSDPA/HSUPA/Bluetooth
  • FM Radio
  • DNLA support
  • 1GB internal memory with microSDHC up to 32GB
  • 1500mAh battery

Well call it Louvre or Omnia; it’s aiming for a September/October release although the fact that a retarded ROM may be slowing things down to possibly pushing release dates further down the year is something to be upset and all tantrummy about. But still September/October is still pretty far off and it’s just a slow ROM so let’s keep our hopes up.

e71i Nokia Gets Ready To Dress E71 With FP2 And 5 MP Camera, Hello E71i

Now for those E71 owners who have been suffering from E71x envy, there seems to be news to gloat over in your own right. According to the ever vigilant Russian blogger, Eldar Murtazin, Nokia is getting ready to release another new version of the device that will not only carry FP2 along with it, but a 5 megapixel camera and new color options as well. Alright, so the E71 3.2 megapixel camera sucks when compared to other shooters of the same caliber, but why on earth would we object to improvements of any kind? This will all become true in the form of an E71i, which can be yours if you be good and wait patiently till September or October. Unless of course you prefer to sign 2 years of your life away for an awesome looking E71x that will run you a mere penny.

sammy s8000 m8000 Samsung Launches Two Touchscreen Handsets; S800 And M800

The unthinkable has happened; Samsung has launched two full touchscreen handsets! The full touchscreen action is heading straight for Asia and, no, this is not an official announcement from Samsung itself, rather news of the best kind…leaked! The two handsets are the S8000, which touts a 5 megapixel camera and dual-LED flash. The other is the M8000 which we don’t know much about. Both handsets have 240 x 400 pixel touchscreens and a new d-pad design which will help these bad boys stand out in the touchscreen crowd. Both phones have decent sized ‘send’ and ‘end’ buttons you could push with both hands tied behind your back. Enjoy the eye candy.

Motorola Set To Launch VE66

November 19th, 2008 momina No comments

motorola ve66 Motorola Set To Launch VE66

Motorola is set to launched yet another sleek phone bearing a very cool 5 megapixel camera, the MOTO VE66.

The VE66 bears, in addition to the 5 MP camera, the enhanced CrystalTalk audio technology, MP3 player-like navigation for a 1-2-3 punch of great call quality and an enjoyable music experience. Unlike the ZN5, this time round Motorola has not branded the camera phone as Kodak’s, instead the camera has and LED Flash instead of a Xenon one. Considering that the Xenon flash on the ZN5 had been such a disappointment, this is probably a smart move.  The camera also has autofocus and image stabilizer. The

The form factor of the VE66 is certainly different from the ZN5, but the features are quite similar. A treat that the phone brings is, for the first time form Motorola, widget integration. Now you get seamless access to your favorite info, ranging from sports scores, stock tickers to RSS feeds from your favorite website. It also has a quad-band GSM without 3G, but with Wi-Fi. Its display is smaller (2.2” instead of 2.4”) but is also with QVGA resolution and support for 262k colors. Other features include stereo Bluetooth, microSD slot and FM radio.

The VE66 lacks a hybrid keypad like which were quite an attraction in the ZN5 and E8 but the digital Fast Scroll wheel is still intact with all its glory.

The VE66 should be out before the year ends but there isn’t a release date as of yet. Motorola also hasn’t specified which carrier will be show casing the VE66, but chances are it may be T-Mobile.

As of today, the T-Mobile subscribers have the option to get their hands on the ultimate Motorola digital camera phone experience, the Zine ZN5.

The ZN5 is a simple cell phone, no complications involved, but brings with itself an amazing Kodak designed, 5 megapixel camera. There’s also a Xenon Flash built in what Motorola promises to be the best cell phone camera ever. The screen resolution is a powerful of 240 x 320 pixels and gives a nice 2.4 inch view. The user interface is simple and allows for easy access to favorite applications.

The Motorola ZN5 comes with a 1GB microSD support, Wi-Fi connectivity that lets you upload to Kodak Gallery faster than ever. It measures 4.7 x 2 x 6.3 inches, a fairly small size with a sleek candy-bar shape. There’s also Stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm headset jack. The Bluetooth connectivity also helps to pair with Kodak all-in-one inkjet printers. One drawback is that the Zine ZN5 lacks support for the 3G network of T-Mobile and only has GSM/EDGE technology for world roaming. There is of course Motorola CrystalTalk voice enhancement software. Then there are the usual features for text messaging, MMS, emails, etc. you also get T-Mobile’s automatic contact backup system.

The Motorola Zine ZN5 is available for $200 with a two year contract from T-Mobile. You also get a $100 mail-in rebate when you sign up for the qualifying plan. T-mobile is also giving new users 50 free prints from the Kodak Gallery.

And We Have Nokia N96 At Last

9 22 08 nokia n96 300x194 And We Have Nokia N96 At Last

Nokia’s latest n-series cell phone, the Nokia N96 is already taking in pre-orders at Nokia Flagship stores in New York and Chicago as well as Amazon.

The N96 is a sleek dual slide design that is not only a clever invention, but also makes the cell easier to use. It is Nokia’s latest 3G smartphone featuring an upgrade of Series 60 from 3.1 to 3.2. It is part of Nokia’s extremely popular n-series and is the direct successor to the N95.

It has a color TFT display screen on the N96 is a large 6.1 inch diagonal display and displays up to 16 million colors on a QVGA LCD screen with a screen resolutions are 240 x 320 pixels. Like the N81, everything on the N96 is flush except the Directional Pad and the Multimedia Key. This gives it a much lighter appearance and minimalistic look than the N95.

The N96 has been packed with the latest features. It has the latest N-Gage gaming support. Nokia has basically tried to and succeeded at removing all the flaws from the N95. While the N95 had been adored for the innovative features it brought, the N96 will gain fan fare for its refinement. Despite being slightly bigger and bulkier than its older brother, but it has a slicker shinier surface, the hinges move like silk so you get easy slides. It has built-in memory of 16 GB and microSD support. There is touch pad navigation, a built-in quick stand for viewing videos. Nokia has put in a 5 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens camera.  Hence image capturing is much better than it used to be, improving both picture as well as video quality. There is integrated DVB-H tuner for Mobile TV so it’s not a complete reincarnation. Also, the N95 had corners like a tin can. The N95, thankfully, has rounded smooth corners.

Now for the price banger. Considering that the N96 is really an upgrade to the N95, and there’s a lot left to be wanting still (such as a touch screen maybe) Nokia is asking for a hefty $900-$1000 price. Users in Europe and Asia Pacific who have used it are somewhat satisfied, but that really is a result of what you wanted from your smartphone to begin with. The rather larger size may make it a not-so-popular smartphone for ladies. If you’d like, you can see the N96 demo.

tocco 300x300 Samsung Tocco coming to T Mobiletocco b 300x300 Samsung Tocco coming to T Mobile

T-Mobile is about to release its latest Samsung touch screen phone the Samsung Tocco in the US. The release was expected in the beginning of fall with the G1, but so far we haven’t seen the cell phone that has waoed Europe.

The Samsung Tocco features Samsung’s dynamically designed user interface, the TouchWiz. The cell phone will probably be called the Samsung T919 or Samsung Roxy.

The Samsung Tocco will bring features like a 2.8 inch TFT touch screen display with 240 x 320 pixels, 262K colors and haptic feedback, a new TouchWiz User Interface with widget support, a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, image stabilizer, face detection, flash and video recording, GSM and HSDPA connectivity, Music and Video players, FM radio with RDS, document viewer, full HTML browser, email, Instant Messaging and 232MB of internal memory (expandable up to 8GB). The Tocco will also have built-in GPS, voice command and Wi-Fi. The TouchWiz with its widgets has already made waves across Europe. It’s a highly interactive screen that lets you personalize it, so you get easier access to your favorite applications.

The Tocco has already gotten rave reviews from users in Europe, a majority just loving the 5 megapixel camera. It not only captures great images but also makes high quality video. The autofocus just adds to the joy. This tiny little set also has Face Detection and Smile Shoot to get the best out of your photographs. The from facing camera makes Video calls all the easier, so you have more contact options with your fellow 3G users. Also, the cell phone is pretty much the size of your credit card. It can easily be held and comfortably placed in your pocket. It may seem like the Instinct from Sprint but Samsung has tailored this Tocco to please the Diamond crowd.

Pricing details on the cell phone are as yet unavailable.

Samsung Omnia-AT&T’s November Treat

samsungomnia 170x300 Samsung Omnia AT&Ts November Treat

The hottest news about what AT&T will be releasing in November this year is the ever gorgeous Samsung Omnia also known as the i900.

Now if you’ve been reading your cell phone news right, you’ll know that every cell phone enthusiast has been holding his or her breath in anticipation of the Omnia. This cell phone is a beauty, not to mention the classiest combo of the latest features.

Omnia, which means ‘everything’ in Latin and ‘wish’ in Arabic really does have everything you could wish for. It has a fine 3.2 inch touch screen along with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, which is unique to the Korean company. This state of the art Smartphone has a 5 megapixel camera that comes equipped with autofocus, image stabilizer, face recognition and even Smile Shot. There’s also a MP3 player, Bluetooth, and FM radio. The Omnia runs on Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 Operating system. According to Samsung the IS is their reason for using a WQVGA resolution screen. The large than average touch screen is an attempt to make up for this deficiency.

The Omnia supports GPS as well as visual voicemail. And then the usual features of a PDA are all to look forward to, I mean there’s HSDPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth stereo. The cell comes in two different memory capacities, 8 GB or 16GB. You can also get an upgrade to the memory up to 32GB with microSDHC support. And since AT&T is releasing it, comes with support for AT&T’s array of services like AT&T Music, AT&T Video, and even AT&T Mobile TV. The finishing touch is the 12.5mm platinum body that just commands attention.

The Omnia was launched in Asia in June and Europe in July. It’s scheduled to hit the US in November. The price tag on the 16GB Omnia is set somewhere around $720 while the 8GB version will come out a little later. Of course prices could vary with a contract. Let’s see what AT&T does with this beauty.
