All right all you Alltel subscribers left stranded in divested markets, wishing all evilness on your Verizon-owned counterparts, rest the conspiracies and dry your teary eyes; say hello to the BlackBerry Tour. That’s right Alltel has proudly announced that the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is all set to go. The Tour is available immediately in Alltel stores and online for $199 on a 1-year contract after a $100 mail-in rebate (insert applause here for a 2-year contract price on a 1-year contract period). You will have to pick up a Smart Choice plan that will run $69.99 and upward. The Tour is nicely compatible with Alltel’s My Circle calling feature too. Congratulations.

The Holidays are still a long way away but it’s never too early to start shopping especially if you’re shopping for a new phone for yourself. There is a new rebate sheet circulating the blessed WWW and it goes to show that at least phone makers are getting ready for the holidays. So the ultimate question of Best Buy or Worst Buy, (no pun intended) will soon be answered. Did you cough up some hefty cash too soon or were you right in holding out for the good stuff? The highlights of the sheet feature:

The show stoppers are still the smoldering HTC Touch Pro 2 and the rocking BlackBerry Tour 9630. As with all rebate sheets the final drop date for these handsets may still be a while away. The validity for the sheet is 07/17/2009 – 11/12/2009 so actual release dates can’t really be predicted but corporate America never sits idle before the Holidays so expect something good for yourself this year.

No doubt news has been all about either Sprint or Verizon launching/announcing or bathing the new BlackBerry Tour 9630, but that doesn’t mean that the locals of the Smartphone are going to be left out. The TELUS Tour is rumored to be out on July 15th, which a lot ways away from the old rumored date of June 22nd. Delays are no one’s idea of the perfect summer but this delay is subject to the old date which itself was a rumor. However other rumors are that there might be a 1GB microSD included as compensation for delay. This is probably the too-far-fetched-to-believe rumor and with the pricing rumor of $249.99 3-year promotional price, it’s not about to happen in this life time.
Hitting it on the mark, the news about the Tour going official via Verizon was true. Ever so blissfully true, you can almost hear the angels singing. Although there was no official announcement as we expected, yet the website is all out there. Not with the greatest or in-depth product details but at least it’s official. And where we have waited this long, we can stand another short wait. And for Verizon’s sake, let’s hope it’s very short.
Ah the sweetness that is the BlackBerry Tour, and to add to it, the Tour 9630 has just made an appearance on Bell’s inventory with an MSRP of $599.95 CDN ($510 USD). So what does this mean in terms of contract price for the Tour 9630 from Bell, well if Bell sticks to its usual pricing schedules, this will probably have the Tour priced at $199.95 CDN on a three-year contract. There may also be some price reductions based on sales volume. Now let’s hope Verizon is just as smart.

Right so we now know the BlackBerry Tour is what we’re gonna get, onwards to release date. According to BGR, the Tour may be touring Verizon around mid to late July. Of course it isn’t 100% confirmed, as in Verizon hasn’t said ‘I Do’ yet, but sounds about right, the Tour does seem to be ready, now the only thing left is RIM’s ability to delay launches and releases. Pricing could be around $199 with a two year contract.

And at last after putting up those initial design phase crummy shots of the BlackBerry Niagara, we finally have live shots of the Niagara or BlackBerry 9630 if you please. And in case you forgot about this beautiful baby, this is going to be the World Edition from Verizon and features; with GSM/GPRS/EDGE/HSPA and CDMA 1xRTT/EV-DO Rev. A radios, the Niagara is also purported to feature GPS, 3.2 megapixel camera. And by the looks of it, RIM dressed the Niagara up in the Keyboard of the Bold, display and menu buttons of the Curve 8900 and the overall form of the Storm. Sweet.
