Bell is going to make you Canadians take a new BlackBerry whether you want it or not. As you can see in these leaked images of Bell’s inventory system the BlackBerry 8530 is headed your way. The price you see is the full retail price, $499, and doesn’t show what you’d be paying on a service agreement, but it sure will be less than $500. Also, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is seen here too, quietly idling away the time till Bell sees it fit to announce to the world. Considering that the world knows already, that announcement may be soon too.

Well looky what we have here. According to BGR, an anonymous tipster sent some inventory screenshots from AT&T lockers their way and the documents reveal that a very white BlackBerry Bold is stewing in the system. Not just this, there are also screenshots that reveal the BlackBerry 9700 on board as well. The BlackBerry 9700 was the flagship device from RIM that hasn’t been officially announced yet, but some blogs have had a taste of the action. It is RIM’s most advanced QWERTY device yet. The gorgeous looking 9700 takes its styling cues from the 9520/9550. So yeah, people have reason to suffer from AT&T-envy at the moment.

New Version Of BlackBerry App 1.1.0.11 Has Arrived

app world New Version Of BlackBerry App 1.1.0.11 Has Arrived

And finally the new 1.1.0.11 version of the BlackBerry App World is here. The rumored update had promised the ability to download and run apps from extendable memory, since BlackBerry devices are sadly anorexic when it comes to internal memory. Sadly the new App World has killed all such rumors in cold blood. What the new version will let you do is archive the app. Yes, archive. These archives can be stored internally or on a memory card so that, in the event the user wishes to reinstall an app again, he or she can do so quickly and easily. A couple of annoying bugs (small bugs) have been fixed, there’s also faster icon loading, available memory display and a separation between top free and top paid apps.

Is Rogers Raising Prices Of BlackBerry Devices To Make Up For The $30M Acquisition Expenses?

rogers wireless logo11 Is Rogers Raising Prices Of BlackBerry Devices To Make Up For The $30M Acquisition Expenses?

Lately, Rogers has raised the price tag on its three year contract for some of its most popular BlackBerry devices. For instance, the past few days saw Curve 83xx go to $149.99 (up $50), Curve 8900 to $224.99 (up $25) and the Bold go to $299.99 (up $50). So what gives Rog? No, it’s not the supply of the handsets has plummeted and market forces are putting upward pressure on the prices, it actually seems that Rogers is taking the acquisition check out of the BlackBerry sales. Here’s what an inside email tells us sent to Rogers employees from the VP says;

On Wednesday, the senior executive team realized that they were over budget $30 million dollars on their cost of acquisition. How I don’t know why it took so long. [sic] They then did their knee jerk response. Your DBM’s and other local managers know nothing more than this and are in the dark as much as we are on this other than we were told VERBALLY that in market quotes would be honored for 30 days from today. The exception lists are due Monday and only for non named accounts. I have requested in every region for a positioning statement and to this moment have not heard a response. If it makes you feel any better the retail has even more uncertainty.

Exactly what has Rogers been splurging on so much that they went so horribly over budget? That’s what we’d all like to know, especially before forking over the extra buck for a shiny new BlackBerry.
