And we finally have pictures of the Nokia Rover aka RX-51. This Maemo 5 powered smartphone has gotten its graduation certificate from the FCC and if all guesses be true, we may see it pop up on T-Mobile. The handset still features the Nokia right-centered space key. Something never change. In any case, the specs are cool, and if you’ve forgotten them, here’s your fresher-upper;

  • 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen
  • 800 x 480 pixel resolution
  • 32GB internal memory
  • 5.0 MP Carl Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash, auto-focus and sliding cover
  • MicroSDHC support
  • FM transmitter
  • Quadband GSM/GPRS/EDGE, WCDMA 900/1700/2100, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP
  • GPS
  • CPU: ARM cortex A8 @ 600mhz up to 1Ghz (similar to iPhone 3GS and palm pre)

But you came here for the pictures, keep scrolling along and enjoy yourself.

Nokia N86 Live And Rather Disappointing At CITA

n8611 Nokia N86 Live And Rather Disappointing At CITA

The much awaited and much fumbled Nokia N85 was at CITA too. Why ‘fumbled’, if you remember, back when MWC was going on, Nokia decided to unveil this 8 megapixel bombshell in some obscure show in Singapore. Then towards the end of MWC, Nokia did indeed re-unveil the N86. Go figure. Now at CITA, Nokia had N86 handsets on for display as well, but the weird part was these were all early internal builds. How can we say such a thing?

Because the phones had “NOO” written on them and then lamely covered with a black marker. Hello 10th grade! Anyway, the handset really did look rushed, just look at the non-existent finish. It’s like 8 megapixels slapped on to cheap plastic. Also, apart from the 8 megapixel camera, the N86 lacks anything very interesting. Nokia had better slap the Carl Zeiss beauty onto some better handset or it will just be wasting 8 mp after 8 mp. Try to enjoy the images, I just found them painful.

N97 – Nokia Brought Something Big!

n97 300x206 N97   Nokia Brought Something Big!

Well we told you Nokia was planning something big, and yeah, that’s what the Finnish giant had promised. On Tuesday, the company held its Nokia World ‘08 Conference in Barcelona, Spain and announced the ever lushes, very very gorgeous looking N97.

The phone has been designed to be loved by all who set eyes on it (corny as that may sound). Nokia is calling it the “Facebook Phone”, and for a pretty rock solid reason too. The N97 is aimed at heavy duty social networking and multimedia, all while keeping the business user happy and well equipped.

Specs:

The phone has some pretty cool specs;

1.      3.5, 640 x 360 resistive touch screen

2.      QWERTY keyboard

3.      Tri-band HSDPA 3G

4.      802.11 b/g WiFi

5.      A-GPS and Stand-alone GPS for directions and geo-tagging

6.      32GB Built-In Memory

7.      microSD expansion support for ADDITIONAL 16GB

8.      5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics

9.      Flash Lite 3.0 support and Flash Video in web browser

10.  Music player up to 36 hours playback time

11.  Share and Ovi services support

That’s everything but the kitchen sink. The phone may not be an iPhone Killer, it sure rocks the multimedia loving crowd. The camera takes an amazing 30 frames per second video. And probably the biggest wao factor is the Flash Support and Flash video. Then there’s that 32 GB of built-in memory so you can fit in a hefty part of your multimedia collection. Although Nokia doesn’t have the greatest market share in United States, the N97 will defiantly be a big hit in Europe.

The N97 will be released in the first half of 2009 and will go for €550, or approximately $695. Till then, enjoy the pictures and here’s a video.
