Got a great music phone? What about a great headset? If you’re a music fan, you know that an up class handset is the best thing that could happen to your music phone. So what to splash your precious green bills on? Here’s an entry into the music and mobile world that’s getting pretty good reviews and feedback from users in general. For BlackBerry and iPhone users, 2 new pairs of headsets are being offered by iHarmonix; the Platimum i-Series and the Pro i-Series.

The Platinum i-Series is a pretty decent pair, with wires designed with a thickness and coating that keeps them from getting tangled. Always a good thing, I hate taking out a pair of headsets in the bus only to spend 10 minutes untangling them. The Platinum i-Series also has an in-line microphone with a button to send/end calls and to pause music. Also this pair comes with three different ear bud sets, so there’s a probable fit for all ear sizes. Sound, which makes or breaks the deal, is very impressive. Good, solid bass, and the quality stays clear even at higher volumes. Unlike similar headsets, the bass doesn’t take away from the mids or the treble however, so the balance is damn near perfect at low or high volumes. Call quality for both the iPhone 3G and BlackBerry are very good.

Now for the Pro i-Series, it has an above average quality as well, but truth being told, if you put the Pro next to the Platinum, no competition. The Platinum wins.  In any case, case of the Pro, we’re looking at, head set with the same design that will save you untangle time. But as you notch up the volume, the sound does tend to get muddled. The only good I see in this is that it will save you from going deaf by listening to music that loud. Call quality is as good as the Platinum and the mic button is present and accounted for. But no multiple ear buds, you need to have the right sized ears. Both the headsets have a good durable life, probably as long as your MP3 player of handset.

As for pricing, $59.95 for the Platinum and $39.95 for the Pro. The headsets are defiantly worth the extra buck.
