
Sonim Technologies, the San Francisco based company that provides PPT and VoIP solutions to the world since 1999, has finally got the nod of approval for its latest handset from FCC. This is another rugged handset for those ‘who both work and play in challenging environments’. As per the FCC documentation, the handset will be either be branded the Sonim XP3.20-E Quest or the Land Rover S1. Expect the handset to feature GSM/GPRS/EGPRS 1900MHz, Bluetooth, camera with flash and Sonim’s signature rugged good looks. No word on release date or pricing as of yet.

The rugged feature handset has already been picked up by two well known carriers; Alltel and TELUS, so Moto must have done something right by it. Pricing details and release date are not yet know, but it probably won’t be long. Expect the phone to be heavily subsidized.
