A few days ago, Slacker Radio came to the BlackBerry crowd but the iPhone was still out in the cold, well all that’s over now. Slacker Radio is now officially available for the iPhone. Given that the iPhone already has Pandora and Last.fm not to mention a nice assortment of other apps on the Apple App Store, but who would complain about a new custom made radio app.
But the fact is Slacker has a nicer GUI than either Pandora or Last.fm. This is what gives them their edge, and coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch crowd will definitely have its benefits. Slacker is most known for its great hardware efforts, solid custom stations and web designs; custom stations can be created based on artist or genre. You can use the Slacker service totally free but there will be a few limitations. A small subscription fee and your free as a bird to do most of the things you want to enhance your radio entertainment experience.
So let’s see what happens to Slacker’s revenue and ratings now that it’s unleashed on the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Slacker is now officially rocking on BlackBerry. The very popular internet radio provider made some noticeable news waves when it showed its intentions of doing so during the CTIA. Things were all quiet after the initial buzz, but with the CES, they made the BlackBerry Slack official.
With 100 stations categorized by genre and over 10,000 artist stations, Slacker also allows users to create their own stations which other users can listen to. Album reviews, artist bios and cover art are also tightly integrated into the program. Radio streaming for mobile devices is seeing a lot of attention and there are a good number of providers in the area, but the major benefit of Slacker is that it allows users to store their favorite stations on a memory card which Slacker claims increases battery performance up to five times when you play back in comparison to a constant-stream of music.
Slacker Radio for Blackberry is available only in the US (non-US residents can bypass this by entering any valid US zip code, for now anyway) and your BlackBerry must be running OS 4.3 and up. Also, the Storm crowd has been left out on this one till an update hits the aisles.
