Useless gadget alert! The LG GD910 watch phone is ready for you UK dwellers on Orange. The handset that combines a touchscreen phone with a watch, sells for £500 (which is way more than if you bought these items separately, but like we said useless). The watch phone lets you compose text messages and make video calls, but still…too pricey. Anyway, Orange had a limited number of units on hand, and in the event you didn’t get yours, don’t jump off the bridge yet, more units will come by mid-September. Yeesh!

In further flashy accessories and goodies to come to our friends across the pond, the UK will be getting LG’s insanely expensive watchphone, the LG GD910. Orange will be the exclusive carrier of this Bond, James Bond-esque watch which it has said will come out in August. The exclusivity of course is of ‘a limited time’. The carrier hasn’t printed a price on the watch, probably with the intent of not giving people nightmares, the GD910 is rumored to be in the price region of £1000, which is roughly $1600 or so. Yikes! All this on a pay-as-you-go plan or SIM-only. Now let’s hope that the rumored price is just a rumor and the watchphone comes in at some saner price level. So much for shaking our heads at the Nokia N97.

Now while Europe, and UK especially have been getting a bunch of juicy handsets, the one smartphone they didn’t have yet was the Palm Pre. All that is about to change as O2 and Movistar have been announced as the exclusive carriers of the Palm Pre in Europe, to be available in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Spain before the year is through, and that’s about all we know. Pricing details for the markets is unknown. If any of you folks on the other side of the Atlantic want to import a GSM Pre take note — the specific UMTS/HSDPA bands that it will be packing have not yet been listed so keep those fingers crossed.

HTC’s to-die-for Windows Mobile professional device, the Touch Pro2 has just debuted on Vodafone UK’s website. Vodafone has labeled the handset ‘Touch Pro 2’ instead of ‘Touch Pro2’ like HTC likes it, but the gorgeous QWERTY packing touchscreen device is listed as ‘coming son’ in all its glory. No pricing details yet, but we know how much European carriers love to subsidize their handsets, especially if the user opts for a higher tariff plan.

According to the Carphone website, the LG GD900, now the GD Crystal, will be debuting in the UK sometime in mid-May. Of course LG has been mum on the subject and hasn’t announced any official release dates for any region as far as the GD900 goes, but it would be nice to see the handset before the year ends. The GD900 is an awesome looking handset not to mention the world’s first handset to feature a transparent keypad. It also features LG’s new S-Class UI under a nice bright touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera and a slim form factor, so yeah all the more reason to covet this device.

T-Mobile UK has come up with a very smart offer to bring more users into the BlackBerry fold. This “Pay Once” plan requires new users to pay a one time fee of £180 ($262) that will land them a brand new BlackBerry 8110 along with unlimited web and email or a whole year. Well before you pack your bags and move to England, just remember, as far as voice and text go, users on the Pay Once plan are on their own. For talk minutes and text messages it’s the old fashioned pay-as-you-go style. Like the Pay Once plan? Don’t like the BlackBerry pearl 8110? A T-Mobile representative has hinted that if this plan is a success, it may be extended to include other ‘Berrys. All in all, it’s a pretty smart way to get people hooked on a BlackBerry.
