We haven’t been won over by the LG VX9600 Versa, and among the many unknown areas about the new handset was the possibility of a virtual keyboard that would make the detachable keyboard a bit more sensible. Of course it wasn’t confirmed at the time. Now, however, there’s a leaked image showing the virtual or ‘soft’ keyboard. The image came up on the Howard Forums and according to HoFo user Snap315, the keyboard will be available for the browser, Notepad and text messaging and some other applications, just like the Dare. But the keyboard itself seems better than the one on the Dare and features directional arrows, dedicated “.com”, “@”, comma and period buttons as well as colored keys to indicate non-letter keys like the “Clear”, “Done” and “Shift” buttons. It also seems that the Versa keyboard will also retain the “pop-up” letters (while typing) that were present on the Dare and made popular by the iPhone.

So that’s about it, the Versa will have an on-screen keyboard as well as a detachable one. feeling better about the device yet?

Innovation is not LGs cup of tea is it? I mean if all the cell phone manufacturers had a tea party, Apple would go, “who invited the mad hatter” and Nokia would say “no, that LG”. And everyone would actually be disappointed the Mad Hatter couldn’t come. At least that is what could happen come February 22nd, the apparent and imminent date for the release of the Verizon Wireless VX9600 Versa from LG as reported by BestBuy over their inventory intake.. specs are not 100% out there but its pics are and get this, some phones have a side slide QWERTY keyboard, and some have a touch screen QWERTY keyboard, but the LG VX9600 Versa has, (drum roll please) snap-on key board. And for those of you who don’t get what this is, and understandably so, you can try and get a clue from the pics or try this video on youtube. The known features include a 240 x 480 pixels display, Bluetooth and extendable memory (up to 8GB).
