Guess who else is going to (try to) take our breaths away at the MWC 2009 expo? Of course you couldn’t guess this one, it’s Toshiba. And the company is by no means aiming low, they’ve gone straight for the mother of all smartphones; the iPhone. The smartphone, dubbed the TG01, will feature an awesome display and a super fast processor. More specifically, it has been endowed with a 1GHz snapdragon processor from Qualcomm and will sport a 4.1″ WVGA resistive touchscreen with on-screen trackpad, HSDPA, aGPS, G-sensor, microSDHC support and DivX support. It will be rocking the Windows Mobile 6.1 version and Internet Explorer Mobile 6.

And Toshiba is not at all quiet about the prospects of the TG01, it has stated pretty upfront that the handset is “faster, slimmer and better than the iPhone”. Toshiba also claims, “We’ve taken all the technology from our TVs and put that into the screen”, far be it from us to doubt their words, we’ll take it!
