Word around town is the Verizon is bringing a new Samsung cell phone to all ye faithful. The destined date is November 14th so there’s no long wait to see how much substance is behind this story.

The miracles of pre-press leaks have done it once again and some blessed human being on a web forum  has done everyone a favor. Now for what we should all be expecting. The cell phone will be the i770 and seems to be the tentative replacement for the i760, well…Good! It will available via B2B, online and telesales starting November 14. It will hit retail outlets on December 1st. The i770 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional phone that will support both GSM and CDMA for international roaming. It has EV-DO Rev. A, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 and storage expansion support through microSD slot to compliment the 256KB built-in memory. The i770 also boasts of a 2 megapixel camera. The touch screen will probably be 320 x 320 pixels of no QVGA, though again this isn’t certain yet. The smartphone features the very expected QWERTY keyboard, and even though the look that is so far apparent from the leaked images is not the most handsome looking set on the planet, but specs as get a definite nod of approval.

The cell phone comes out the same day as the new mandatory data plans that Verizon is bringing, which means the least that you will be paying for your data is $29.99 per month. The cell phone itself will cost a nice $199 dollars after you get an $80 mail-in rebate. I guess the real wait is still for the TouchPro and the Samsung Omnia, nothing compares to them and if Verizon really wants its customers to have a happy holiday season, it should be working at lightening pace to bring those gorgeous phones into their Christmas stockings.
