Verizon Wireless CEO Confirms BlackBerry Tour For July

Playing aloof at the Barclays Capital conference in NYC, VZW president and CEO Lowell McAdam “casually mentioned” their upcoming line up and while remaining firm to the “six month” time line said,

You will see devices like the Palm Pre and the Cousin on our network from Palm. You will see a second-generation Storm. You will see a new device we call the Tour from BlackBerry as well. That is an upscale of any other QWERTY-based devices that we have from BlackBerry today. You’ll see Motorola back into our portfolio. We feel very good about the progress that the Motorola team has made. And, yes, you’re going to see Android devices as well.

Been there heard that. This is McAdam repeating the same old story to us about the Palm Pre which both VZ and Sprint have been tugging at like bridesmaids over the bouquet. The Storm and Android were remembered and reminisced about. Then there was the Motorola line from rivals which probably hurt Verizon in the gut. But all this means that we have official confirmation of the upcoming Tour from Verizon by an executive. Now all we need is pumpkin juice and viratraserum and he could sing us the release date.
